Considered the best varietyfor hominy because theskin of the kernel is easilyremoved by soaking. Alsogood for grits, corn meal andflour. Makes a nice roastingcorn (the old fashioned wayof eating corn on the cob).This variety grows extremelytall with stalks reaching 12feet. Some people use thisvariety for providing supportfor pole beans. Producesabout 2 ears per stalk. Earshave very large flat whitekernels. Husks are tighter
than most varieties and giveexcellent protection frombeetles and earworm. Hasgood tolerance to northernleaf blights (H. turicum)and southern leaf blight (H.maydis).
